Payment Methods

You should choose between two payment methods for your reservations: Cash Payment on Guest arrival or Online Payment Method after approving their booking. You also have an additional option, Allow Guest decide, which means the guest can choose whether to pay online or with cash on arrival. Please note that the Online Payment Method and Allow Guest decide option will be available soon. For now, you would start with cash payment.

Cash Payment

Cash Payment on arrival is processed by you and your Guest on their arrival. You can choose this method if you want to avoid any bank transfer fee. In Cash Payment you have to know that you are responsible for your payment and cancellation policy.

Online Payment Method

Opting for online payment is an excellent choice to secure your funds. Once guests book your property and you approve, they'll receive a notification to process the payment, which can be done with just a few clicks. Alternatively, if you use Instant Book, guests will immediately proceed to payment or can utilize the time until expiration. As the owner, it's important to notify guests of the expiration date of their booking if payment hasn't been made via Email Notification to Guest (a field available when listing your property). We recommend allowing a 48-hour wait time. Please note that online payments incur a 2-4% bank transfer fee per transaction, which will be detailed further in the Payout section.

Allow Guest Decide

Allowing guests to decide whether to pay online or in cash upon arrival is an excellent option if you want to offer them more flexibility and freedom.

Payment processing

When a guest makes a reservation and opts for online payment, the payment is securely processed through our platform. We use industry-standard encryption and security protocols to ensure that all transactions are safe and secure. Once the payment is processed, the funds are held in escrow until the guest's stay begins or their Free Cancellation time expire, providing peace of mind for both guests and property owners.

When are payments processed for reservations?

Payments are typically processed immediately upon completing a reservation. However, for bookings with a flexible payment policy, payment processing may vary.

Is there a delay in payment processing for reservations with certain payment methods?

Payouts

Payouts to property owners are scheduled on a regular basis, typically once a month. Start of month. Property owners would receive payouts on their bank account. We strive to make payouts as efficient and seamless as possible, ensuring that property owners receive their earnings in a timely manner.

How do I receive payouts for bookings made on BalkanStay?

Payouts for bookings made on BalkanStay are typically made through bank transfers or you can ask for other online payment platforms, depending on your preferences and location.

Bank fees on payout

When sending funds to your account, please be aware that there may be unhandled bank fees, for which you take responsibility. These fees vary based on the guest's location and currency, as well as yours, ranging from 2% to 5%. Wallet

The Wallet feature on BalkanStay allows property owners to track their earnings and manage their finances with ease. Property owners can view their current balance, total earnings, and payout history directly from their account dashboard. The Wallet also provides detailed insights into individual bookings, including payment statuses and reservation details. With the Wallet, property owners can stay informed about their financial transactions and manage their earnings effectively.
